How We Started:
Our story begins after the devastating Uttarakhand Floods in June 2013. International Development professional Mohamad Farukh spontaneously headed to Uttarakhand to see how he could help. His intended one-week volunteer visit turned into a months. During his visit he witness the lack of expertise and coordination among NGOs in dealing with disasters. After his return, he founded Rapid Response, India’s first NGO established to deal with disasters.
Where We Are Today:
With the tireless support of our dedicated staff, board and volunteers, Rapid Response continue to respond to disasters across India. In the past five years, we have responded to 11 disasters and touched more than 4 million lives!
